Landscape & Patriotism 13th March 2010

The English landscape painting tradition and patriotism. In the morning illustrated talk we shall explore how landscape and patriotism are entwined. After lunch we shall visit a gallery.

John Constable and Hampstead 27th March 2010

We look at the work Constable produced in Hampstead where he spent much of his adult life. We also examine the effect that his Hampstead cloud studies had on his Suffolk landscapes. This talk has been given at The Arts Depot, North Finchley and several times for English Heritage at Kenwood House, Hampstead where it proved very popular. We shall begin with a talk in the lecture theatre Kenwood and then walk through Constable’s Hampstead
